With the last upgrade an improvement was made to the Delivery Creation/Delivery Route Module. This is a great enhancement. We process from a 100 to 125 deliveries each day and the sorting of delivery slips was very tedious and time consuming.

Now, the delivery slips are put in the logical delivery order. My operations staff runs the delivery creation at the end of each day, then they print the delivery slips for each route and we’re finished. This is such a time saver for my staff. It’s simpler and much easier to do!

"Regarding the software you're currently using, we also used that same record center software which is a great program and does everything and more than we need to run our businesses. The problem we encountered was the complexity, staff learned to do their little bit but almost no-one understood the entire program.

At the time (and I believe they've improved) they were a very difficult company to deal with.... so dictatorial and unreasonable it made people like us look for alternatives.

We discovered a small company from Montreal, DocuData, which marketed a program that was exactly what we were after. We found them so easy to deal with, accommodating, flexible but most of all, they totally understood records centers as they ran one of their own with about 6 or 7 hundred thousand boxes under management. The software is called EDC Record Center Software.

After a lot of soul searching we decided to switch. Exporting / importing the data were done by them almost overnight. No dramas, no hiccups, no trauma, just a much easier way of doing the same thing.

Naturally we were shocked at how simple our life had become, it did take a bit of getting used to but the beauty of the EDC RC Software system is, it works on basic logic.... any dumb-bum can use it with minimal training which suits us.

One thing for sure, EDC Record Center Software will cost you a fraction of what you're paying now!!

"We purchased the EDC ActiveFile Software™ for off-site storage in March 2004. This year we upgraded our software to include tracking of files on-site and are extremely satisfied with the upgrade. Importing the files this time was even easier. We had over 4000 files to upload and the whole procedure took no more than an hour by phone. A thermal printer was installed along with scanners so we can now scan our files in and out. We then printed barcodes from the software and applied them to all our files.

With the implementation of the upgrades to EDC ActiveFile Software™ we save many man hours by not having to look for who has what files. The history and movement is recorded with each scan and that history stays there permanently. The ActiveFile Software™ is user friendly, with the help of DocuData’s staff we trained 25 people in one morning to scan files in and out, check history and also change hands.
